Once the head is complete and ready to shape the hide for a rug should i soak a few towels and rap them around the fur to streach better or use a spray bottle.how much/how long.

Kim.
I use a sheet of plywood for smaller rugs to nail the skin out flat as well as streach it out on to keep it flat and to hold it in shape till dry. I usually cut a hole out for the head so I can nail the skin out flat fleash side up so I can scrape and work the skin so it will remain soft. You can also make a frame of 2x4's and use a rope with small clamps to streach the skin to. I like the plywood so I can put it up against the wall out of the way till done. I will generally spray the fleash side down with a mixture of tanning oil and water shaken up and then streach the skin. I alaso generally do this the same day I mount the head so the whole thing is done at the same time.
I can alos finish off the feet too.
My hide is all ready tanned, does this still apply?
like you mentioned and you don't need to get the thing sopping wet or on the hair for that matter.
