I have a red fox with no rear left foot and the customer wants it running or leaping. I was thinking about hiding it in a puddle or behind a clump of grass? Any ideas on how to make such a pose look as realistic as possible? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Or hide it in a snow drift. Many years ago I did a Bobcat that just would not close well over the shoulders. As it dries the seam busted wide open.
Panic set in, and finally the cat was mounted on a rock wall hanging with rock over hanging and snow and ice.
I vote to hide it in the puddle or in the grass clump.
Rick, Another option is to sew on another foot. Repairs like this are often noticable if you are looking closly but most people assume that a fox has 4 feet and they just don't notice. I did a bobcat that had a leg mostly gone. I took some extra skin from a cat in the freezer and unless you knew to look you would not see that the spots on the inside of that leg were really spots from the belly of another cat.If you want to go this way I probably have a foot- just email me. Enjoy, Aaron
