Regarding you actual question about the woods bison. The Federal Register lists the sub-specific, Bison bison athabascae, as the "Woods Bison". There are no woods bison on refuges in the lower 48 states according to the USFWS. If your bison came from the lower 48, you may ship it as Bison bison bison.

There have been several petitions to remove the woods bison from the Federal Register, but all have failed.

In the future, if you have a question about like matters, go to this web site, type in the species name and find the status and disposition.

Thank you for your time and info.I find it hard sometimes to find info on odd requests like this.But need to fallow the laws.even the people that you talk to at fish and wild life give different anwsers.sometimes its very hard to be sure even if you have it right in front of you.Thanks,
