I did my first mount about 6 months ago, it was a squirrel. I didn't know hardly anything and hadn't found this site. I never split the lips or eyes becuase i did not know you had to. I then put dp on it and mounted. My question is will these lips attract bugs? It doesn't smell nor has it ever. Also if it did attract bugs would they spread onto other mounts that were properly tanned with ez100. thanks-Sam

I also left some of the feet in as well. If it starts to smell should i just inject with some preserve it?
i think as far as bugs go you'll be alright because it was just a squirrel (small and thin skinned)and you basically dried out the skin when you utilized D.P. now lets talk about what you "should" probably do for your future mounts.....step #1 you've done by finding this site..now step#2 get into the archives and spend literally hours going through all the information you can obtain and applying it...also save that first squirrel and compare it to future mounts as you change techniques and become more experienced and you will see how quickly you can "advance" in your skills when applied
good luck

..any un skinned areas can be purferated..that means poke it with full of holes and rub D.P in that should keep it preserved...has far has the mouth goes on a squirrel sew the mouth shut from the inside....that is about the only way you can keep it looking decent...on small animals
