I just recieved what will be my first javelina to be full mounted. In skinning is there any thing special to watch for. I have been told that there are scent glands to be careful of; is this true and where are they located.

The sent gland is on the top of the back, right in the center. If you happen to cut it in anyway you will know in a heart beat. Oh you will also clear out the roon in which you are skinning it in. While fleshing be careful, the best way to remove it is by cutting between it and the skin. Then cut the opening where it is conected to the skin. Very little smell if any.
