coyote feet

what is the best way to get all the fat and meat out of the pads on a coyote foot. One other question when i skinned this coyote i cut too far up the neck i stopped about 3 in behind the jaw is that too far (this is for a rug )or should i sew it up. this is my first rug mount

Cut the pads off and buy fake ones form a whole seller. As for the rug, if you wanted the head on you cut too short, if you wanted it on, trim it to the end of the neck. Make it look like a rabbit.

Hey Scott first off on coyote rugs I cut them pads off. They aren't needed and won't hurt a thing as I hand sew them and done right you won't and can't see the pads at all. Besides that no supplier I know of carry coyote pads LOL Their way to small to even think of making and selling.
Now having a 3" cut might just be about right for the rug shell. You may need a 1" more cut to fit it on the manikin. The rugs shells can get a bit tight on the lower jaw and you only have about two inches of manikin till you hit the bottom of the shell which turns into wood. So you should be fine with that. You'll find out more when you get the head in.

thanx for the tip so i should just cut the pad off.the felt and the rug backing will cover were the pads were souds good too me
