New to Taxidermy

Can anyone tell me what the easiest mammal is to mount? I am new to the art of taxidermy. I've been doing some reading on the subject trying to teach myself. I would like to start practicing on something soon. With all of the grey squirrels that I see on the side of the road, I thought they would make a good one to start with. Does anyone also know a really good website for information on learning taxidermy? I have doing some searching and I'm finding a lot and it seems like each person has his/her own way of doing things. I think I have plenty of info to get started. I'm just always looking for more. Thank You to anyone that can help.

Paul,
Don't know if you have stopped by www.TaxidermyReference.com but there alot of "How To"'s on the site and some great articles by Brad Bishop, Glen Conley, Bill Gaither and others. You can also find where to get hides in the "Links" section, who to contact for a taxidermy license in your state in the "Law Library" and much more.

Good luck,
Mark

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the help Mark. I have checked out TaxidermyReference.com. I found some useful information. It seems like a lot to learn in order to do taxidermy. If I take it one step at a time I should be all set though.

Thanks again,
Paul
