Hi first question is that I boiled A bear scull out last month and now notice that all of the kanine teeth have A crack right down the middle of the teeth. What could that be from. and has that happen to anyone else.the second question is when I got done boiling the scull I was scraping the meat off under the sink with the water runing and two of the teeth fell out. so I shut the water off and took the water trap off and the teeth were gone into the city sewer.so if anyone has the two teeth I need I will buy them from you. the teeth I need are from A 200 or 250lb.bear I think. so if you are looking at the front of the scull its the top teeth third and forth from the right kanine. if someone can help me out I would appreciate it thank guys and gals

mascerate them. You dont get that boiled damage with this method. Put the skull in a bucket of water in the sun for few day then change water,keep checking until clean. whiten and gloss. Teeth are less likly to fall out. When you do clean them do it in a tub to prevent lossing items.
Teeth are hollow in the center and boiling exacerbates teh cracking process. All teeth eventually crack anyway, you just speeded the process up by adding heat to the mixture.
I teach third graders. We are studying bears. One of the questions they asked is "How many teeth does a bear have?" We have not been able to find the answer to that question so I hope you will help us out. Thank you in advance.
