I have a California Golden Grizzly Bear rug dating from the 1920s. It is mounted on heavy green wool felt, measures 6 feet from nose to tail and is fully intact with all claws. It is in extremely good condition considering its age, has had no repairs and is quite rare in that such bears were last seen in California in the 1920s. The bear rug is said to have once graced a California Bank President's office. I have no sentimental ties to the old boy we've named Fargo and would like to find a home for it back on the east coast. Does anyone know what it might be valued at for insurance purposes and whether or not it can be resold or donated?
