been mounting mammals using the dorsal cut, would it be possible to do a large coyote with a case skun pelt without making a dorsal incision, im sure i can, but will this result in more headaches than its worth to save the extra sewing ? i imagine i would have to section the form and glue back together from front to back. any help would be appreciated thanks

Paul, take a look toward the back of the mammal taxidermy book, I believe the process is outlined there, step by step.
All you have to do is cut the front legs off with a double cut from 2 different directions so that the leg gets a posative set when put back together. Install the legs first, then the earliners and thenthe body. Make sure to testfit and you cant have it too tight or you will fight with it the whole way. Make leg pins with strong , stiff wires and sharpen one end and chuck wire in drill , position leg and drill wire home. Use at least 2 wires per leg and put them in 2 different directions. if you have any ?'s ,e-mail me bishops@newnorth.net.
God Bishop your cruel!(ha-ha)No offense but it sounds like a lot of extra work to me ! You can sew up that rear end in no time and then go right to your dorsal cut that you are already comfortable with!Hey Bishop! I have some extra coyotes that the tannery tore the front legs off, interested?
