slippage

just finnished my first coyote rug and it look's great.i just finnished stapling it to streach. when i went back to check that everythhing was still in the proper place i noticed two small spots on one ear that the hair slipped will the slipping stop when everything is dry or am i screwed i rubbed a littel dp on the ear will this stop it (this coyote was lutan f tanned)what can i do i spent alot of time on this coyote and dont want it to have a bald ear.

Let it dry and don't touch it till then. It may set up but if it's loose from the epidermis there is nothing you can do. The DP won't do a thing for the dog. Try doing little grooming when it's dried. Usually after a tanned hide dries hard the lose hair usually sets up with it but sometimes it doesn't.

is there anything i can do to hide these spots if they get any bigger than they are they are on the inner edge of the ear. there not that noticeable right now but if they get any bigger they will be....


Flock It!

You can buy flock through Van Dykes in many colors,put a little flock adhesive on the ear and add flock!blend colors in nessacary and then groom hair up around flocked area,most people will never notice the repair!With a little practice you can get excellent results!I have also used this on geese when small facial feathers were missing,works great!

If you have spare parts from other critters about the same color you can put elmers glue on the bald spots and glue matched hair to follow the flow ot the hair patterns.
