Flexible foam

I buy flexible foam tails from the supply companies to fit my specimens. Research Mannikins, McKenzie and WASCO are the more frequently used. I've done coyote, raccoon, otter and beaver using these types of tails. They work great for me.

wood wool and string. Save your old tail from carcass then you can make it identical. Use a little clay around base of tail to mannikin for a smooth transistion when you mount. simple and cheap


My Method

Best method I ever learned is to use a wire chucked into a drill, cordless works best because of the slower speed, and attach a string half way up the wire. Turn the drill on, and let the string wrap itself around the wire making the tail the exact thickness you need. It sure beats using wood wool or tow.
