possum

i was wondering what I should pay for a full possum mount? not many taxidermists around here are really interested in it so i think that they are putting a high price on it to stay away from getting it. I asked about a full body mount and everyone wants 300+ but for a wall hang or just tanned hide they only want around 40 or 50 bucks. Is this right?

Thank you

Yea, taxidermy is so damn simple right. What about the dieses animals carry. The cost of materials, then the cost to operate the shop every day, then there is equipment, advertising, continueing educations. Liabitlity insurance, health insurance, Federal taxes, State and local taxes.

Last but not lest is some wages to put food on the table! Buy little Jimmy some new shoes.

$300.00 you aint getting a good mount for $300.00

Better look at $650.00 to start on up depending on what you want the possum to look like.

Huh?

John C what kind of market area do you live in?

Say it aint so... $650.00+ for a opossum? He must be hanging from a ten foot persimmon tree with gold teeth and crapping grape size diamonds? Little Jimmy must have some high prices shoes!

Good work is still available for half that ridiculous price! And 'possums aint that much fun to mess with. Thin skinned and greasy, but not too much to handle for a reasonable price!

$650.00 possums , what would a coon run ya? $950.00 to $1150.00?

Let me ask what you price your deer mounts...I don't even wanna guess!

I'm all for covering the bases and getting paid fairly but...
