How do I go about finding a reputable taxidermist?

I want to have my cat preserved. How do I go about doing this? What do I do with her after she dies and before I can get her to a taxidermist.

Click that orange icon to the left there that says "SEARCH". Then type in "pet taxidermy" and get ready to read. Many if not most of us refuse to do pets for a variety of reasons, but if you find one who does, it's still no guarantee on your pet looking exactly like it did in life. Prepare yourself for a BIG bill and no guarantees.

I have used Joe Kulis in the past for pets and would do so again.

MY EXPERIENCE IS PEOPLE ARE RARELY HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS OF HAVING A PET PRESERVED. I ALWAYS ENCOURAGE THEM TO SPEND THEIR MONEY ON A PROFESSIONAL PORTRAIT OR PAINTING. I BELIEVE THEY WILL BE MUCH HAPPIER WITH EITHER OF THESE THINGS.

Freeze Dry it

I highly recommend having it freeze-dried. It will look more natural that way, but be prepared to pay a fairly hefty price for it.
