I have an owl that was stuffed some 20 yrs. ago. i changed its scenery and have to set the eyes back up the left one just needs filler and the right one has sunk in to the head.i removed the eye and all that there is for stuffing is cotton?Every time i set the eye in some clay it sinks to deep.
Any other ideas..

I had the same problem with a bobcat. I packed as much clay in as I could, let it set up and packed in more. This took a few days to do in order to let the clay get hard but it made a good solid "backer" for the eye. If you were in a hurry you could use some apoxie sculpt but it would be alot more expensive.
