I am looking for a possum jaw set.I have checked the archives and all that was there was old post and nobody new of a supplier that has any. I thought I check around in these modern times maybe someone has them.I didn't find any in the catalogs I have. Would a racoon jawset be to short? THANKS

I'm no expert but I don't think a coon jaw set would work because of their different teeth.Possums have about 50 teeth (more than any other animal in the world...or so I've read somewhere)and I don't think a coon's jawset would work.

I have not seen a possum jawset in any catalog as far as I can remember.Kinda silly really, they have fisher, mink and groundhog jawsets, 3 that prob aren't used a heck of a lot,at least not in commercial work.It would be cool if some company could do this, a grinner full "smiling" would be a neat mount.
You can either cast the upper palate of a fresh possum, cut the lower jaw out, clean both, use epoxy sculpt or similar on the upper and press the cast peice in to do the palate detail, and silicone mold the tongue, cast it, and then paint the whole works using reference OR cast the whole thing from the start with silicone, and not bother with the real teeth. Theres articles in Breakthrough back issues on how to do all this.
Any idea which issues of Breakthrough might have this. I subscribe to Breakthrough but I haven't for very long only have four issues in my collection. Thats one more thing I need to work on as a bieginner. THANKS
