Unless I used the wrong search words, I could not find anything on how to create tartar on artificial jawsets that looks real. I am talking on bear and boar, particularly. I've tried painting, and am just not happy with the results. Any suggestions on that grossly realistic tartar buildup?

try some yellow ochre with an edge of burnt umber, stipple with a toothbrush so it looks kind of gritty.flat colors
I use yellow ochre painted on with a brush...then quickly wipe it off with a soft cloth. It leaves behind a good stained color. You can repeat for desired affect.
