Is anyone aware of needing some kind of permit to possess a wolf in New York State. I have a potential client that has harvested a wolf this past year in the Northwest territories. It was brought into the country via CITES permit. Thanks in advance.

Ask them. They do have some requirements for permits for certain species. Try special licenses at (518) 402-8985
Call Patrick Martin at special licenses and ask for the form "permit to possess a controlled species" and tell them you have imported a wolf with all CITES from country of origin. Its a one time permit to possess and its basically registering the wolf.
