Never mounted a raccoon

I know how to do a Bobcat. LS mount intended for the coon. Is process similiar to Bobcat? Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks in advance,

degrease

David, you'll have to degrease you're coon skin before you pickle and tan-there are many good degreaser's out there to chose from, good luck-john.


Coon

Let's take it slow here.
First off remove fat and meat from the coon, flesh it good. Salt for 24 hrs, shake off and resalt, dry hard.
Rehydrate in water and ultra soft. Rinse.
Place it in the pickle for three days, drain, shave, then you degrease, place back in the pickle for another 24 hrs.
Following day take out, neturlize, and tan and oil.
