Just wondering
if anyone can point me in the direction of some good ref photo's of 3 - 6 month old red fox cubs?
Its for my next project.
I have only managed to find adult fox photos.
He's frozen whole at the moment and i've been surfing the arch's to find the best way to do him. (actualy starting to get confused. lol.)
From what i have read i am best off: thawing slowly (in a pickle solution to avoid hairslip was one remark),skinning, splitting the usual things, rinsing quickly if bloody, salting and draining, drying (takes up to 4 days?), rehydrating, pickling while fleshing (is there a need to shave the thinner fox skins?),tanning (i use l/f), towel drying/hairdrying hair, oiling, let soak in then mount or freeze till ready.
oh, i was going to ask - how much of the A & B foam do you think i would need for such a small thing (form)?
I wish to experiment with it as i have never used it b4. I was thinking around 30 - 50mls of each?
I must get the mammal manual by sally soon. lol. Her whitetail manual was great help for my last project.

for that question. My wife just picked up a book for me from her sister. It's called "Animal Close-Ups The Fox" I would say 60% of the pics are of young ones. It has some great shots! Written by Christian Harvard. The number on the box isISBN 0-88106-434-3. The price is 6.95. Go to book store and look it up or have them order. I think you will be happy.
