Does anyone know a good way to turm the skin of a lifesize mount so you can salt? I mean, I can turn it, but legs and feet are a b*tch. I hate pulling and fighting with them! I just salted my 1'st coyote. I expected it to be easier than a squirrel, but it wasn't. The feet don't want to fit down the leg skin. I was just wondering what anyone does to ease this process so maybe next time I can do it 100%. Thanks for any input.

Did you tube the hide or what? If you're trying to tube the legs out, you've made life miserable for yourself. The paws of canids don't particularly fit through the leg tube. Best bet is to cut the inside of the leg from the knee to the foot pad This allows you to get in and to mount without the turmoil. Whatever you do, don't shave the form down as your 'yote will be pencil legged.
I have case skinned all lifesize so far. Well, this one I bought so it was case skinned anyhow. I did make an incision from right above the pad and up the leg about 3 or 4 inches enough to get the wrist bone out to skin the feet out (on the backside of the leg) I was afraid the inside would show a stitch seem. Maybe I should make the incision longer up the leg?
I try not to make any changes to the forms. I am not experienced enough in my opinion. I have had to cut the front legs off of the squirrel mannikins to get the hide to fit and I am hoping I will not have to do that with the coyote.
I bought it case skinned. I made an incision from the foot pad up about 3 inches. Next time I will make the incision longer.
You must go all the way to the "knee" joint in order for the form foot to get through the tube.
Thanks for taking the time to help me!
if you dont its like trying to push a golfball through a garden hose! its amazing how much extra work one will create to save one some sewing time (i used to be guilty of it myself)
