I just bought a coyote to mount, and I am almost done turning everything but had some questions before i salt this thing.
Question # 1 is the cartilage. I was thinking of leaving the cartilage in until after sending it to a tannery. If I wanted to use the bonded ear method, does that work on coyotes? I wanted to try earliners, but wanted to wait until after it is tanned. (I have never mounted anything large enough for either method).
Question # 2 is the tail. I bought it with head and feet still attached. The tail is out but not split. Will I need to split that or just stuff salt down into it?
Question # 3 is about the fur. It is full of burrs. I planned to wash it, dry it then salt it. Does the tannery get them out?
Thanks for the advice.

#1 it is ok to leave the cartilage in. just make sure you turn them & salt them. you can remove them when you get it back. #2 you will have to split it to salt it evenly. and let air get to it to help dry it out. #3 you will be better off removing the burs yourself. or get as many off as you can. the tannery will charge you to do it. hope this helps. if the feet arnt skinned do that also and salt.
