black coyotes

I was just wondering if these animals (black coyotes) are as rare as the trapper who is trying to sell them to me say they are, and if so what is a reasonable price to pay for an animal like this, I looked them over and they are in great condition. Any input would greatly be appreciated. ( one is black with some silver mixed in, and the other 2 are jet black and are in the 40-45 lb range)

They might not be rare, but they are always uncommon and sought after. Most taxidermists want the odd color phases and black is one of those. Its a pretty animal, as you have seen. Ive seen them offered anywhere from $50 to $100 and Im sure some have gone for more. Its purely supply and demand. A guy cant rip you off if you are willing to pay for it, and can justify it. Good luck!
