Ask them for a list of local beekeepers in your area .If they are honey bees (and they probably are) it is a federal offense to willfully kill them. An experienced keeper will be able to remove the bees for his own use and leave the hive with you. Once empty ,I'd advise you to stuff a cotton ball soaked with Raid inside the hive so you won't get any transient bees or wasps .Whatever you do -DO NOT go near it if it warms above 55 degrees. You can be severely and possibly fatally stung .Have a nice day =)
The western hemisphere does not have any resident honey bees. All the Honey bees have been imported, starting with the Colonist. Most of our bees are of Europeon Varitys, and the HYBRID Africanized Honey bees.
I think Doonie you may be dealing with a Hornets nest instead of Honey Bees. Honey bees dont Hibernate nor do they go dormant. Bee keepers feed thier bees in the winter to help them survive.
While there are some wild Honey Bees these are considered Feral. Recent dclines in Honey Bee populations are due two types of mites, the major devestator is the Tracheal mite. Actully lives in the Tracha of honey bees, it as the other mite are destroyed by Terramycins.
Bee yards must be inspected by USDA trained inspectors yearly if they are leased and moved to polinate crops.
Our Co-op just shipped 300 hives to California to polinate the Almond crops
The average life of a bee is only six weeks even in the winter. With exception to the Queeen. One mating will last the lifetime of the queen.
Donnie,
Is this a bee hive or a paper wasp nest?
now that i look at it it is probly a wasps nest!
Donnie,
If the wasp nest has been left outside all winter, there's probably a good chance all the occupants are dead. But to be on the safe side. I'd spray it with a good wasp and bee spray. Put it in a plastic bag and leave it there for awhile. I know all the ones I've collected after winter here in Mich. I had never had a problem with the wasps.

if the hive has been out side all winter and you are from a northern state dont sweat it ! good luck
Today i was on my patio and i found bees fliing in and out of a bird house I have. I want to get them out as soon as possible because i use the patio a lot. What do you think is the best way to get the bees away from my house?
I am in search of a good beekeeper to remove a bee hive in my front closet. I find at least 10 bee's flying around my house everyday. It's becoming extremely annoying and dangerous. What do I do? I need help, now!
