I have a really nice coyote that I will be entering in competition. Some of the hair is matted (knots). How would I get these out, I have been trying to comb them out before the pickle, but is is not working well. It's in the pickle now. Any ideas!
Thanks,
Rob

till after the coyote is mounted and dried, then comb out the hair balls.
Go to your local pet supply and get some grooming spray. It conditions the hair and helps work out the mats. While you are there get a steel comb.
Oh yeh, wait till after you tan the hide. You don't want to cause slippage.

Thanks for the ideas Julie and Doug!
