Hello, I have a question. Is there something that you can put under the nose pad to help prevent wrinkles? I have them skinned really thin-and a tight stretch, but some still tend to wrinkle up when drying.
Oh, I almost forgot---Yes, I have already tried the orange button-and it told me how to FIX a wrinkle, but not PREVENT it.
Thanks in advance, Brandon Wildlife Studio

i had that problem just like your having and i came to the forum's
a gentelman told me to mount the deer as normal wait a day and
apply a coat of liqitan across the nose pad let it soak in for a
coupel of day's, whip with a moist towel.
no shrinking or wrinkel's appered after drying.
good luck
BWS, Noses that wrinkle up in the drying stage wrinkle due to not being thinned completely (most of the time). On deer when you start shaving very thin you will see a network of white fibers (nerves?) running all over the inner surface of the nose pad. If you shave these off, the pad will absolutly not wrinkle. On all mammals there is basicaly the same situation but when the animal is small it works better for me to rebuild the pad so I don't worry about wrinkles. Bobcats and foxes are easy to build back with Apoxie and adding texture with a bit of foam rubber pressed into the repair gives a natural look. Enjoy, Aaron H.
I use Epo-Grip epoxy hide paste and once I get the mannikin painted, I stretch the nose into place, tuck the nostril and pin the interior nostrils up against the mannikin overnight. The next morning, the epoxy has hardened and that hide is NOT going to move any more. I pull the pins and pack the nostrils with plastic freezer wrap until the interior skin dries hard. NEVER had any wrinkles develop after the Epo-Grip hardens.
