I just want someones advise on how to price a lifesize Munt Jack. It is something I am not too familier with, but am up to the challenge. I priced all of the supplies and tanning and figured out my time and came up with $1200. Do you think that I am in line or priced too high or too low. I couldn't find other taxidermist prices on this species so I could do some comparisons. Thanks for any imput you can give me.
Dan

You are close but remember, you may need to make many form alterations, figure a extra days wages and shop fees, dont forget profit too.

Little bit pricey for these parts

I did a shoulder mount of a muntjac. It wasn't difficult, really. And they are pretty darn small deer. I dont' know how much a lifesize form is for one. I would estimate somewhere around $650 for me to do one, possibly less. (Of course, the highest priced taxidermist in this area (me) gets $235 & up for a whitetail shoulder mount....) A lot depends on the area you are in. The Missouri Ozarks are rather a financially depressed part of the country...you can only charge what the local market will bear, if it is for the local market.

$235, man.....

The average price for a whitail shoulder mount down here in S. TX. goes for atleast $500-$600. Dan, John is right about the $1,500 price tag for a muntjac mount, if a person can afford to hunt a muntjac, then they should have no problem with paying that for the mount.
