Bobcat form size?

I recieved my first bobcat and i was wondering about the measurements on the forms. Its seems im a little limited to selection. Im wanting to use a VanHoesen form. My cat measures 30" long, 16" belly, and 1 3/4 eye. My questions is whats the smallest lenght measurement on a form i could use for this cat? I was wanting to do a leaping mount which form measures 1 5/8 x 27 1/2 x 15. Would this form be too small or would it work. I just need some advise on picking a form for the measurements and what form would be easier for a first time LS mount. Thanks for the help.

Mike, I would not hesitate to use this form for your cat. The extra looseness will greatly aid you on fitting the skin and cats can be a struggle. Here in the southeast I find the forms often are heavy in the legs and a bit smaller form will help that a lot. In the event that you decide the form is just too short once you get started it is a simple matter to cut it into and add say an ince more to the length- I doubt you will feel the need to do this. Bobcat forms often will need some alterations since they don't come in every dimension possible but the use of something a little smaller is generally a good idea. Anyway, that's my opinion. Enjoy, Aaron H.

I mount a lot of cats, and more than not, I have to alter the forms.
Also, once you get him mounted, there are some great paint schedules posted on here.
