pig tongue

Hi all.
I have been in the arcs and cant find an answer to this-
Can the rubber pigs tongues be painted?
The one i have purchased here in oz is too pinky/red. In other works - it stands out like fake 'dog b...s'.
I thought the paints would just peel off.

I feel so badly for you and the lack of good quality products in Australia and New Zealand. The mouths and tongues of pigs are cast from casting resin here now and I don't know the last time I've actually seen one of those old red rubber tongues. The only suggestion I'd have is for you to dip the tongue in epoxy or fiberglass resin until it's coated. Once coated and cured, you could paint it, but in its current state, you're absolutely right. The paint won't adhere.

Thanks George.
