I was wondering what recipe to use for an Acid Pickle useing Salt and Vinegar. Does anyone know what ratio to use?

Add enough vinegar to drop the pH down to 2.0 to 2.5 and add 1 lbs of salt per gallon of fluid.
There is never any receipe that is perfect for everyone!
You water pH will vary and minerals within the water can effect all pickles.
Here's the formula I've always used successfully.
2 Qts. of Water
2 Qts. of White Vinegar
1 Lb. of Salt
The PH should read about a 2.2 to 2.5 - if not adjust by adding more Vinegar to lower it! You want it to be at least 2.5 or lower - never higher!
Try Glacial Acetic Acid. Vinegar is only 5% while GAA is 100%. You won't have to use nearly as much. We used it in dialysis instead of vinegar. Be careful though this stuff is very caustic in its undiluted form. Should be able to order or at a pharmacutical co.
