Last week I shot an average size painted sheep....nothing spectaculor...but a good one to practice my first life size hoofed animal on.
Couple questions.....
One....I planned on skinning the sheep myself and doing a belly cut. However, I went to get a soda, and by the time I got back the guides had it skinned out and they used a dorsal cut. Any thoughts on that? How unusual is that for a full body mount? Any problems I need to be aware of?
Second....since the did not do a belly cut....the legs are completely in tact with no cuts. I presume I need to cut just enough to get those legs skinned out...and then sew up when mounting?
Thanks for your thoughts.

....Is my preference for all lifesize mounts, or at least most. I am fortunate that here in the north country our game has HAIR that covers the dorsal cut very well. Second I hate to sew, the dorsal cut means les sewing and usually "much easier" sewing. Yes. you will have to cut the legs some, how much is up to you.
