Has anyone seen the pictures of a man holding up a HUGE Mountain Lion vertically, under its forelegs. The information sent to me indicated that this cat was shot 10 miles North of Harrisburg, PA. I was wondering if anyone could validate this story? The cat must have been 300+ lbs.

Robert,
I saw that photo a while back in a hunting mag. It stated it was from out west somewhere and was probably going to be a new world record. I want to say Wash or Oregon, but I'm not sure.

The Cat was taken near North Bend Washington. I have seen emails from all over caliming the cat was taken in California, Utah, Pennslyvania, ect. YOu know how the internet is. THe guy who shot he cat is named Jim.
Look at the hand on the guy. He has too many fingers! Its a big cat but someone has done some altering to the picture! His hand is distorted and not real.
This is from the Boone & Crockett Trophy Watch page.

This big tom was taken by Jim Hackewitz using a varmint call and hunting within 6 miles of Bellevue, WA. There is no official score as of yet, but judging by the photo, he has to score high in the All-time book.Bellevue is a major suburb of Seattle. Washington voters passed a bill banning the hunting of cougars with dogs a few years back. Good idea?
UPDATE: Unofficial score -- 15-12/16, which would be in a 6-way tie for #7 all-time. Included in this list is a 15-12/16 tom taken by the only American President in the records book -- Boone and Crockett Club Founder, Theodore Roosevelt, which when entered was the World's Record cougar taken in Meeker, CO in 1901.
CORRECTION: Jim Hackewitz did the calling. The big tom was taken by Roy Hisler from Duval, WA. with one shot from a .30/06 shooting Barnes X bullets.4/30/03
UPDATE - the official entry score for this cougar is 15-7/16 and the hunter's name is Roy Hisler, not Ron.
I also saw the story told as being a Pennsylvania cat and, myself being from the state, couldn't believe it! But, now I live just north of Bellevue, WA (Everett) and look what's in my backyard! Does anyone know what this dang cat weighed?
Here is a bigger record cat that scored 16 and weighed 220 lbs.

I really couldnt believe it when I saw the picture. Is this really true? it was posted at Larry's sport center in Galen,Pa. I was kind of freaked out and amazed that the big cat was so close to home. I know people had a fit trying to reintroduce the Lynx...now cougar? I just want to know if it is real and/what size wild cats are really here in Pa.

I had that picture saved on my hard drive, but my computer crashed a few weeks ago and I lost it. Can someone send it back to me? It was the big cat being held up vertically...HUGE! (Supposed to have been shot near NorthBend or Bellevue Washington.)
thanks,
Denise
