Evidently "grab and run" hasnt seen our fall bears, hahaha! By the way, that rub mark where the leg touches may indeed be called the groin, which seldom is haired well. Get a good look at the bears and the permits before buying. Hope they suit you well!

Spring bears are a headach

I have had nothing but problems with springbears. You never know how long the animal was left before skinning. Sometimes the guild feel it is nessesary to wash the blood and dirt from the skin and thereby giving a nice home to millions of bacterias. Most of the time the hide is not properly fleshed and the lips, ears, eyes, and nose split and they will slip after you get it tanned. Also, you say the skins are salted, but are they Dryied? If not they are sitting in the bacterial juices that the salt pulled out and are proabably in a plastic bag as well so the juices are not dripping all over the freezer. I would not try them unless you are positive they have been taken care of from the moment they have been killed.
