A friend of mine has an extensive collection of mounts from all over the world in his large home. However, his house has black mold to the extent that it has been condemned by insurance and will be destroyed and rebuild. Anyway, he has hundreds of thousands wrapped up in these tropheys (deer, elk, buffalo, sheep, etc.) and wanted to know if the mold could/has invaded the hair/leather etc. Does anyone know of a fungicide or way of preventing a mold situation in an already finished mount? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Mold gets into houses through leaks, improper or inadequate ventilation and condensation. Your mounts should not be subject to any of these things.
The only situation that I can see where the mounts would be subject to moisture would be if you used salt in the rehydrating of a tanned cape, then there could be some moisture attracted when the humidity is high. That would be due to residual salt on the hair and skin. I see it recommended for rehydrating capes and I have never understood why. None of the tanners that I have used has ever recommended adding salt when you rehydrate the cape. My current tanners specifically recommend against using the salt.
