Blood-Filled Pelt

I'm mounting a mink and skunk for anature center. Both were skinned, fleshed, degreased, and put in the same batch of Saftee-Acid pickle for 3.5 days. The skunk was trapped and at 3.5 days in the pickle the skin is white with lots of stretch. The mink was road kill and is known to have been fresh. There was a lot of blood that had penetrated throughout the skin. This skin is now a brown/yellow color and has virtually no stretch. Is the blood the culprit? Is there a way to regain stretch so I can get this thing on a form? Thank you for the help.

Acid pickling alone is not enough to leave as is to mount. It will fall apart if left this way. Also pickling will plump up and tighten the hide, not let it out. You need to neutrilize, tan then oil the hides to make them mountable.
