I had a little possum and she had been injured after a dog chsed her mother and it was too late for her, she lived to be ten months old, I have cried since I lost her this march, please if anyone knows how to help me find another one I beg you. She was the greatest thing I had ever been blessed with thank you

It's most likely illegal to possess your "little possum!"

I understand your compassion and caring for the little fella you found but it just isn't right to domesticate a wild animal. Life and the "wilds" are cruel at times but it's a natural occurence. A balance that is needed.

Do yourself and the next critter a favor and let'em fend for himself, whatever the outcome may be!

Yeah, but consider this,

Even though your 100% correct fatback, what makes it o.k.to domesticate whitetail deer in a pen or game enclosure? Why can't you raise a possum for pleasure if people can raise deer for profit?
Not trying start anything here, just make a point.

here are CAPTIVE bred babies, make sure you get paperwork with them, and call your state to see if they are legal if captive bred, if your in california forget it already! Everythings illegal there, even gerbils!

Dont get me started on "wild animals belong in the wild" Your dog and cat came from a wild animal at some point, and my african serval is more loving and tame then many many domestic cats, I work as a veterinary assistant, so I do see alot of behavior. My theory is, if you love the animal, care for it properly, keep the public safe, and the animal is happy then why should anyone stop you? with most Wild animals it is MUCH easier to distinguish if they are happy or not. There emotions havent been manipulated through domestication, and they are much more passionate and intelligent. I am a fan of liscencing and inspections, but not banning. Even though I dont need a liscence for any of the "exotic" animals I own in Ohio, i dont have a problem with it because mine are well cared for.
