My buddy and I just finished this black squirrel that was in the freezer for about 2 years, didn't know that when the guy told us he wanted it mounted. It was a pain to skin out, lot of freezer burn around the feet making it hard to skin to toes. But this mount came out better than any other mount we've done. done about 8 squirrel's ... "just starting out in taxidermy". My question is is there anything that might occur with the hair or skin because of being in the freezer that long and being mounted? and is there any animals that are more sensitive than others to being frozen for awhile? Also I recommend just injecting preserv-it in ears on squirrel's makes a more realistic appearance, it worked great on this one, and then use two press-on nail's with a paper clip to hold and give the shape while the ears harden up.
