slippage on black bear snout

Submitted by oli on 09/09/2003. ( ) 66.24.184.121

I have a spot of slippage on the snout of a spring killed black bear about 1" from his nose. The spot is about the size of a half-dollar and it runs from the short black hair on top of the muzzle over toward the lip line into the brownish colored hair. The hair is obviously very short here so I don't think sewing is an option. Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix it? Can it be flocked and then painted? Or is cutting a new piece of hide from another cape, my only option? Any suggestions would be appreciated!
