Bear Teeth

I am not a taxidermist but I would like a little bit of advice. I was given the jaws from a bear, I have removed the teeth but would like some advice on cleaning them up. Is it okay to boil them? I plan to use them for some native american regalia with the boy scouts. Would they need to be coated with anything to keep them looking good? Any advice you could give me would be helpful.

dont boil them , they will ring and crack . Put them in a peroxide bath until they are as clean as you like them.

Soft wire wheel

I would run em over a very soft wire wheel to remove any gunk and help polish. Then soak in peroxide over night, allow to dry. Then use a dremel tool with buffing pad attachment and a little automotive rubbing compound and polish them. They will be a brilliant white and high gloss.

Mineral Oil

Put them in mineral oil as soon as possible and forget them for a long time. It's the only thing I have ever found that keeps them from cracking, and it doesn't work all the time either.
