List for Ellzey's squirrels - Fox or Gray - anybody got one?

Submitted by Andy on 12/12/2003. ( ) 68.72.213.22

I use Ellzey squirrel forms exclusively and have probably mounted every one they make at least once. I have noticed that while most could go either way, that some are definately formed after a fox squirrel - flat triangular block head. It is frustrating to order a squirrel form that you plan on using on a gray squirrel and have to work with that head to round it up on top. It usually happens with the big gray squirrels we have here in Ohio during the winter months. Does anybody have a list, or know where I can find a list that tells what kind of squirrel the form was formed after.
Thanks in advance,
Andy

Altering forms is part of taxidermy.

Don't mater what animal you mount sooner or later you will have to alter forms.

It may just be the SUBSPECIES of tree-rats you are dealing with.

There are hundreds of subspecies within a given area. Even within town.

My dad has gray colored squirrels with grey bodies but they have red tails like Southern fox sq. less than a mile away we have never seen them. Hunted several patches of woods around there in my lifetime and never saw rats like that. but ssit on his patio and you will see them.

Just get use to altering the forms. or make your own.

I know, but...
