I'm interested in tanning squirrel pelts using krowtann. I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck with doing this, and if so, what amounts should I mix? In the directions it says "use 2 times this mix for a bear" etc etc, anyone have a good estimate what proportion would befit a squirrel? thanks

I have had limited experience with Krowtann; but I would try to use the deer cape amount, and reduce it down to 1/4. That should do the trick. I would also wire wheel the varmint. Good luck.
I'm assuming you mean whire wheel fleshing machine....I don't have one...is that mandatory or is a good sharp knife fleshing an option? (he is going to be mounted on a form)
call ozark woods thet are a great people who dont mind giving you a hand.I would sat if you use half of the formula for a bobcat use a 1/4 for a squirrel.
i use it on all my squirrels, works wonderful, as wp said just use reduced equal amounts, say 1/2 of what the directions say for a cat or fox, this is the same for the sodium bicarbonate and neuturalizing mix. you will like the stretch smell and fur with this stuff. good luck
