I have to reposition the antlers on a whitetale shoulder mount that was previously mounted approximately a year ago with a cape that was commercially tanned.
My question is: What is the best method to rehydate the cape so that I can remove the seam thread to open the area around the skull cap which will permit access to the mounting screws to make the adjustment and then allow the cape to be resewn back into position?
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
