Painting to make the lips look real.

We can talk color all day long, but that will not be the problem is how you paint that controls the outcome.

You dont need someone else paint schedule, make your own!

A paint schedule will not work for just anyone, reason is my light coat of one color, does not put my skills into your hands.

You have to learn to control the application of color.
You may have some off base lighting problems in your shop and these cannot be realized until you paint and nothing comes out right!

Find a big freindly dog with black mouth colorations, there is your reference. MAKE IT LOOK LIKE THE DOG MOUTH.

I could simply ask you where is your reference materials? But you answered that question, by placing this post, you dont have any!

My reference come from dogs, magazine after magazine, I buy the mag just for the one photo.

Its now time for you to belly up to the bar and buy some reference.

Just bought a couple really great cover shot magazines. Even one photo in the inside has the uglyest deer I have seen, but its still reference.

Take John c's advise a find some dog reference and then just soften the color. That is, lighten it up just a little. The bears that I have used for reference are pen raised and very tame and they all had fairly light colored mouths parts. Another good(thought expensive) reference is to buy a FINISHED Buckeye Jaw Cup and keep it on hand for reference when you do bear mouths. You should be using them in your bears anyway, IMHO!
