First time Otter

This will be my first otter and I have read the archives. I could not find the answer in there. Can you use DP for an otter mount instead of sending it to a tannery?
Thanks in advance.
Steve

Otter skins are full of oil and grease. I would advise you to tan an otter skin.

Get the otter tanned...I just finished one and no-way would i do it DP'd, too oily of a hide. ALso, the tanning takes a lot of the mustelid smell out fo the hide. The tanned skin is very easy to work with and groom. Good luck
