I'm going to be doing my first bear(full body) mount. In the archives it is kind of mixed on this. What I'm womdering is can I salt twice, then let dry hard, then send to the tannery. The pickel step is that if I was going to tan it myself. Thanks

If your sending it away, that's all that's needed.
thanks Frank for your many responds.
ONCE YOU FLESH THE SKIN,TURN THE EARS, NOSE AND MOUTH,SALT IT GOOD, LET LAY FOR ABOUT A DAY OR TWO, THEN SHAKE SALT OUT THE RESALT AGAIN LET LAY FOR A DAY THEN SHAKE IT OUT AGAIN AND LET DRY ABOUT 75 TO 85% THEN PUT IN A BURLAP BAG AND CARDBOARD BOX AND SHIP TO TANNERY,, MOST TANNERYS LIKE THE SKINS LIKE THIS, IT IS EASIER TO WORK..JIMBO
