Let me get this straight....I want to do a full body mount of a opossum by soaking the hide in alcohol, rehydrating and DP-ing (with borax) the skin, then mounting him on a mannakin. Does this sound ok? or would i be much better off tanning him?

I don't know WHERE you got that information, but it's ALL wrong. If you are going to DP the possum, just skin it, flesh it, wash it in a degreaser, spin dry it, and then DP the inner skin and mount it. What's all this about alcohol and rehydrating?

I meant denatured alcohol, sorry for the confusion. I'm just wondering if DP is really ok for an opossum...I thought it should only be used on small stuff like squirrels...
I've used it on Coyotes and foxes routinely. I personally wouldn't go much higher than that,however.
