I have two Squirrel mounts in need of cleaning...

I have two Squirrel mounts in need of cleaning. The fur and tail have a grease residue on it with years and years of dust. I have tried a vacuum cleaner and it does nothing! How do I clean this off with out ruining the mounts? I can not afford a professional taxidermist to clean them at this time. Any safe suggestions? They are about 20 to 30 years old.

Thanks!

It would help if you said how they were mounted originally

IF you know how they were mounted origianlly, repost and tell everyone that. It makes a difference if they were DP'd (which is only rawhide) or if they are tanned (which makes a much more stable product.
