First mountain lion mount, any tips?

Submitted by Chris on 01/17/2004. ( ) 66.168.129.183

This will be my first mountain lion L/S mount (pose is a cat lying on its side, head up looking left). Any tips from the mountain lion "experts" on skinning or mounting would be appreciated. I produce quality work on bobcats and coyotes, etcc.. but this will be my first project of this size.

Thanks
Chris

If you already do quality work on bobcats and coyote, then whats the problem. Collect reference pictures of a mountain lion. Also get some good photo's of the cats anatomy in different positions. It's all the same except for size. All the procedures done on a bobcat, or coyote where it come to skinning, tanning ect, will be the same as on your lion. Good luck on your project.

No real problem, just looking for tips that a person picks up after doing a few of the big cats that aren't par for the course with their smaller cousins. I am looking it as simply larger proportions.
