I had a guy bring me a skunk today, he wants a full body mount,I've never worked a skunk, My Lord this thing stinks, he claims he soaked it in a baking soda and water mix to kill the smell..I have always herd tomatoe juice will knock down the smell good enough to skin it out,,,What do you guys use?
Also I am concerned about the baking soda and water bath he soaked it in, this is gonna raise the skin PH and increase the chance for slippage.

Its late and now you ask, but two things may save your hide, not the skunks but yours.
3% Hydrogen peroxide, enough to cover the skunk in a pail.
Last but not lest, is the old gasoilne trick, dunk it in gasoline and the gas will over power the skink smell.
One more thing, can you sink it is a clean cold slowing stream for a day or two? That works very well.
