i have a customers coyote that has been in the freezer for alittle over a year. he has had it in two black plastic trash bags. i know its freezer burned. i took it out of the freezer last night at 10:00. tonight at 6:00 it was still frozen stiff. the temp in my shop is 70. do you think the carcuss is freezer burned stiff or what. i'd think it would be thawed by now. im afraid by the time the body thaws out, the hair will start to slip in the places that are already thawed, like the face, ears and legs. thanks

just apply it on when caping, fleshing, and turning. it'll be o.k. you can also find out more by typing in stop-rot in the search button located to the left. you can find more answers.
Fur hold heat in and cold out, it also does the reverse!
I start skinning the animal while its frozen, you can pull the hide off and save a lot of messssssssssss.
thats what i found out earlier. i skinned it half frozen. i'd have to say that it was the nastiest, smelliest mess ive even incountered. it was green inside. hope i can save it.
When removing "work" from the freezer always remove the bag and hang it up and use the weight of the carcase to open it up. Less chances of hair slipping.
